Virginia Military Widows

Executive Summary

Study Attachment 1

Study Attachment - Case Studies

Virginia Military widows have formed a closed Facebook Group to educate and encourage members to contact their Congressional Representatives for action. Current legislation, HR553 and S622, will eliminate the SBP-DIC offset which denies 65,000 military widows a full benefit that their spouses paid for with their money and their life.

MOAA has been a staunch supporter in the fight to eliminate this offset. The purpose of the Facebook Group is to help widows understand the offset and why this denied benefit is unjust and needs to be corrected.
