VIPMOAA’S 2020 ROTC/JROTC AWRDS PROGRAM

In spite of the challenging problems caused by the 2020 Pandemic all VIPOAA 2020 Awards were successfully received by our young leaders in our local ROTC and JROTC units – 3 ROTC units and 8 JROTC units!!

Initially with the cancelling of public awards programs, school closures, and senior instructors sent home, things did not look good for any end of year awards for 2020.  These year end award activities are always key to the successful closure of ROTC/JROTC programs for the school year.  

With special efforts by the ROTC and JROTC leaders and the help of VIPMOAA, we were able to coordinate award names and award mailings to Senior Instructors home addresses, delivery sites and mailings. These special efforts allowed VIPMOAA to prepare and deliver 56 awards

• 8 VIPMOAA $500 Scholarships, 
• 8 Leadership medal w/ $50 gift card in JROTC units, and
• 46 Welcoming Certificates w/2Lt epaulets to newly commissioned 2LTs from 3 ROTC college  units.    

Our President, Ron Corson, also added a letter of congratulations to each award and personally added another $25 for each of the 8 JROTC Leadership awards.  I have received many thanks from JROTC & ROTC young cadets/new 2Lt’s for the VIPMOAA’s  support. They are appreciative and impressed with the interest & leadership of VIPMOAA
